David Pulanko

Inspired by the musicians in his home parish in the SF Bay Area, David Pulanco believes that music and faith are intertwined. His musical journey began in the church children’s choir and he has grown this talent into a powerful tool he shares with others. An up-and-coming music educator, he earned an AA in Music from Las Positas College in Livermore in 2021 and graduated from the CSU Fullerton School of Music with a BA in Music Education in the Spring of 2024. At CSU Fullerton, he studied choral pedagogy under Dr. Chris Peterson and conducting under Dr. Robert Istad. He was acknowledged for his conducting skills in March 2024 at the American Choral Directors Association Western Conference, where he was selected to be one of four undergraduate conducting masterclass students from hundreds of applicants across the Western United States. He also participated in the Pacific Southwest Intercollegiate Choral Association conducting masterclass, proudly representing CSU Fullerton alongside students from CSU Long Beach and the University of Southern California. While pursuing his education, David continued to actively participate as a musician at various churches as a vocalist and accompanist. Responsibilities included past positions at St. Augustine Church in Pleasanton, the Titan Catholic Club at CSU Fullerton, and Santa Clara de Asis in Yorba Linda. He currently sings and plays piano at the Saturday Vigil Mass for Our Lady of Fatima in San Clemente and recently served as Interim Music Director and Accompanist for St. Charles Borromeo in Livermore. Outside of his musical endeavors, David enjoys fencing and archery.
