As we approach yet another Christmas, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on where we are as a church family and how God is blessing and challenging us.

This has been a tough year in many ways. We have begun a process that may well lead to our leaving the denomination that birthed us and with whom we have journeyed for nearly 60 years. It is difficult to consider disaffiliating from a denomination we have known and loved for so long, and yet the situation has become untenable for us. We have emerged from the COVID pandemic (at least we thought so!), only to find the other “C” disease prominent amongst our family and friends. It has been a tough year.

And yet, God has been faithful to uphold us and to shine His light on our path. We are about the Father’s business, even as we search for and discover new ways of manifesting His love for the world. We have adopted the Radiate Possibility ministry for autistic young adults and enjoyed meeting new friends and finding new ways to reach a rather unreached group. We are exploring other outreach ministries like MentorUp and Embrace Grace, and we pray that God will lead us in this exploration. 2023 is lining up to be a banner year for The Fount, and I’m excited to be your pastor at this time.

But our challenges are many and substantial. I’ve written about this before, but we MUST pivot into a new season of outreach and evangelism.

This Christmas, I want to invite you to consider investing in the future of The Fount. We have such faithful givers in our church, but not everyone has discovered the joy of sacrificial giving. Christmas is a wonderful time to discover such joy, as we give gifts to our loved ones and friends, why not consider giving a substantial gift to The Fount so that we can enter the pivotal year of 2023 in solid financial footing? Prayerfully reflect on what God would have you give to The Fount this Christmas, and then mark your contribution “Christmas” and either bring/mail your gift to the church, or go online and make your gift that way.

I cannot wait to see how God will stretch us in 2023, and my prayerful wish for you is that this Christmas will be wildly blessed and extraordinarily happy. On behalf of the entire, grateful staff,
