Have you ever been tired of waiting for something God promised you? Or, weary of not knowing? Or even, weary of the answer He gave you because you didn’t want that answer?

I have- just this week.

A moment of transparency:

I was in my car praying after a worship night I attended this last week, and I just felt so weary of waiting and not knowing. I was praying, “God, When? How? Why?”

But as I was praying and pouring my heart out, the song, “Nothing Else” by Cody Carnes was playing. It says, “I just want you. Nothing else. Nothing else will do.” I was reminded that even though it’s hard at the moment, and it has been hard in the past, I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for those hard times. I would not be where I am today if I hadn’t been praising in the midst of it all.

We want what we want, but let’s want God more. Amen?

In Matthew 6:25-34, it talks about not worrying. God has us on His mind and on His heart. He cares about us, and He will take care of us.

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Are you not much more valuable than they? Will He not much more clothe you?

He knows our every need.

Verse 32 reminds me of an older worship song called, “He Knows My Name”:

“He knows my name

He knows my every thought

He sees each tear that falls

And He hears me when I call”.

He knows our every need.

He says, “Don’t worry, but instead, seek first My kingdom and My righteousness. Then, all these things will be given to you as well.

So, whether you are waiting or weary, worried or just plain worn out, worship in the midst. Praise His name in the midst.

He has it all planned out and in His hands. How much more peace would we have if we just trusted Him with everything? If we just brought it all to the altar and gave it to Him? It’s His anyway. He bought it on the cross. Lay it all at His feet and praise Him in the midst. I’m talking to myself as much as I’m encouraging you to do the same: Give it to Him and praise Him in the midst.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus. These words convict me every time I hear them or sing them. I am so beyond thankful that Jesus is my friend!

“What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear

May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer

Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there”

He loves you. He sees you. He is with you. He is working it all out for you.

Psalm 42:11

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Yet I will praise Him.
