I ended last year’s Thoughtful Thursday post with Gratitude and I’m going to begin this year’s post with Gratitude too.
While it is human nature to be prideful and self-centered (and our culture heavily promotes it) I have noticed that the more self-absorbed I become, the more unhappy, unsatisfied, and ungrateful I become. I have also observed that those I know who are sincerely humble and grateful seem to exude joy and peace, even during trying circumstances.
I did not make a New Year’s resolution this year, but I am stating my intention to continue to be more grateful to God in every situation this year and to embrace the peace that it brings as well. Will you join me in this endeavor?
In every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP
And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:7 AMPC
