Maundy Thursday Service

On Thursday, April 1, 2021, we will observe Maundy Thursday with a special in-person worship service in our Sanctuary at The Fount. The service will begin at 7:30 pm (note the time).

As in the past, our Maundy Thursday service will be a combination of Holy Communion (Last Supper) and Tenebrae (Darkness).

Communion will be served at your seat, using the self-contained elements, remembering the Lord’s Last Supper with His disciples on the night He was betrayed.

Tenebrae (Darkness) is a progression of readings of our Lord’s passion (suffering), with a gradual lowering of the Sanctuary lights, until the moment “It is finished” and the Sanctuary is plunged into darkness. It is a dramatic service that helps us to appreciate the gravity of Jesus’ suffering.

So come. Wear a mask, and be prepared to keep distance from those outside your household. But come, let us worship the Lord this Holy Week.
