Ted Smith – Certification in Wesleyan Studies

Congratulations to Ted Smith!

Ted Smith (Lay Leader of The Fount) has earned a Certification in Wesleyan Studies from the Wesley Lay Academy, which is a collaboration between Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., and the Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship.

To receive the certification, students complete at least six online courses in Wesleyan theology.  Each course is eight to 12 weeks in length, and features weekly video lectures from top Methodist scholars.

Two courses in the certification cover Methodist history and beliefs, and four courses are chosen from topics including the divinity of Christ, Christian ethics, world religions, the end times, the Psalms, faith’s relationship with science, core Christianity, and historic female figures in the Church.

All courses in the certification are completed online through a partnership with BeADisciple.com, an online course platform hosting short Christian education courses on a variety of topics.

The Wesley Lay Academy and its certification in Wesleyan Studies is open to anyone, lay or clergy.  More information can be found at http://www.BeADisciple.com/wesley

Congratulations Ted!  We appreciate your commitment to our church and to preserving a Christ-centered understanding or our faith.
