In July, I was asked to observe the Culture Meets Scripture Workshop in Papua New Guinea order to give the trainers feedback on the course. Culturally defined significant events can be times of intense struggle for believers living in non-Christian communities.
This workshop works with church leaders to help them equip those they serve to resist pressures to conform to traditional ways that clash with Scripture. It was amazing and humbling to watch as believers/church leaders examined their cultural practices, and then based on what they had read in God’s Word, repented and then prayed for ways to bring the process to their communities.
Please pray with me that the Lord will continue to show Bible translation and language development leaders in Asia how to encourage leadership development in younger leaders.
Please also pray for courage and clarity for those who attended the Culture Meets Scripture Workshop as they bring the workshop back to their churches.
