On Saturday, July 24th, a good group of folks gathered together to discuss, pray and plan for the renewal of Welcome Home, our ministry with local people in need. Prior to the pandemic shut-down, Welcome Home typically served 80 people a week with showers, laundry, clothes, haircuts and a bountiful, hot meal. In addition, there was worship and the presentation of the Gospel. But since mid March, 2020, Welcome Home has been closed.<\/p>\n
The discussion on July 24th centered around what we might do if we were to re-open Welcome Home. In addition, new ideas were put forth, detailing how we could help people in need. It was noted that, for many, Welcome Home had not helped them “get off the street,” but that, for some, it was a help in doing so. More than just the services provided, Welcome Home enabled RELATIONSHIPS to form and flourish, and for quite a number of people, these relationships were transformative. The discussion focused on how to foster such relationships in any ministry that emerges from the shut-down.<\/p>\n
It was decided to continue this process of discernment, seeking God’s guidance as we plan. So another meeting was scheduled for Saturday, August 7th, at 10:00 AM in the Multi-purpose Room at The Fount. Any interested persons are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
