{"id":7161,"date":"2021-04-01T09:15:18","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T16:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefount.church\/church\/?p=7161"},"modified":"2021-04-01T15:48:56","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T22:48:56","slug":"maundy-thursday-service-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefount.church\/church\/2021\/04\/01\/maundy-thursday-service-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Maundy Thursday Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, April 1, 2021, we will observe Maundy Thursday with a special in-person worship service in our Sanctuary at The Fount. <strong>The service will begin at 7:30 pm<\/strong> (note the time).<\/p>\n<p>As in the past, our Maundy Thursday service will be a combination of Holy Communion (Last Supper) and Tenebrae (Darkness).<\/p>\n<p>Communion will be served at your seat, using the self-contained elements, remembering the Lord&#8217;s Last Supper with His disciples on the night He was betrayed.<\/p>\n<p>Tenebrae (Darkness) is a progression of readings of our Lord&#8217;s passion (suffering), with a gradual lowering of the Sanctuary lights, until the moment &#8220;It is finished&#8221; and the Sanctuary is plunged into darkness. It is a dramatic service that helps us to appreciate the gravity of Jesus&#8217; suffering.<\/p>\n<p>So come. Wear a mask, and be prepared to keep distance from those outside your household.
