At the time that I wrote this\u00a0we were\u00a0still waiting to see who would win the presidential election. The waiting has been so anticlimactic compared to the campaigning that preceded it. If you’re like me, you just want to know who will win so we can finally put it all behind us, but even then, we know that allegations of misconduct will insure that the battle will continue. And once again, we will be waiting.<\/p>\n
But waiting is nothing new to us as Christians. From the time that we received Christ as our Lord, we have been waiting to see Him again.\u00a0Now, instead of celebrating or lamenting the victory of another human,\u00a0we have an opportunity\u00a0to wait on God and to be a part of whatever He is doing through this time of unrest. One way we can be a part of what He is doing is to be gracious, no matter what the result. We represent the Church to our friends and families and it’s important that we are mindful of that.<\/p>\n
I’m choosing to wait on the Lord (or at least trying to) so\u00a0I can be a part of what he is doing in our country, rather than looking to a person as my source of hope.\u00a0Even if your candidate does not win, keep in mind that God has often used unlikely leaders to bring people into a closer relationship with Him.<\/p>\n
