This year’s joint VBS was a huge success!\u00a0 It was such a blessing to me to see the youth and adults from all three of the congregations on our campus work together to do something none of our churches could have done alone.\u00a0 We expected around 30 kids but had 45 instead, 16 of which are not regular church attenders.\u00a0 That means that we got to share God’s love and the gospel message with 16 children who don’t have a community of faith loving them into relationship with Christ.\u00a0 There were so many amazing people who helped make the week great from The Fount.\u2014 Nancy and Mike Whitmore, Mary Erickson, Jerry and Peggy Jensen, Murray Darch, Julie and Nina Laffoon, Pat Stoaks,\u00a0 Joy Goebel and Pastor Glen all played a significant role in the week particularly Wednesday when I was away for Olivia’s eye surgery (which went very well by the way, thank you all for your prayers!).\u00a0 We were also blessed with dinner each night from John and Sylvia Stambol, Karen Wilson, Karen Geiss, Marian,Ufkes and Pauline and Bob Henning. The dinner was a favorite of the parents who brought their kids.\u00a0 I overheard one mom telling a group of parents\u00a0 “This was the best VBS of all of them!”<\/p>\n

While all that makes me feel pretty good, we can’t forget that VBS in and of itself doesn’t change lives.\u00a0 Jesus is responsible for the transformation of the world.\u00a0 It’s our commitment to continued relationships with the families who came to VBS that allows us the opportunity to really share who Jesus is to us.\u00a0 Please pray with me that we will continue to have opportunities to love and disciple people.\u00a0 If you’re interested in developing a continued relationship with a family we’ve connected with please contact me.\u00a0 A dinner invitation, an offer to pray, meeting a felt need of a young family, these are the ways we’ll become the type of people who are known for their love.<\/p>\n
