Evangelism is a scary word for some people.\u00a0 Going door to door, talking to people about the 4 Spiritual Laws can be daunting. But evangelism doesn\u2019t have to be like that.<\/p>\n
In fact, evangelism is really only effective when it flows naturally from who you authentically are.
\nIt starts with each of us knowing our story of salvation inside and out. Sharing that story with one another is good practice for when we might be able to share it with someone outside the church.\u00a0 But we first have to know our story and know it well.\u00a0 Writing it down to begin with can help. \u00a0But it needs to be written, finally, on our hearts (cf. Jeremiah 31:33) so that we can share it from our hearts.\u00a0 Handing it to someone in written form will not be very effective (unless they ask for it in written form!). \u00a0\u00a0Because the Gospel (Good News) is about what God has done in and through and for us.\u00a0 We can tell the story of Jesus, of course, and we should.\u00a0 But the sad fact is that many people know that story (vaguely) and the telling of it sounds and feels more like a history lesson than
\nanything else. But OUR story, now THAT is unique and new!
\nBut it cannot stop there. Sharing our story is only the first step.\u00a0 We also need to mentor others into a life of discipleship.\u00a0 That requires that we establish and nurture on-going relationships with pre-believers and new believers so that they can see (in us) what following Jesus looks like.\u00a0 We need to \u201cdo mission\u201d with others, \u201cdo life\u201d with others.<\/p>\n

People today are looking for something that is real and life-changing. They want to see what following Jesus looks like and why it is important.\u00a0 They want their lives to make a difference in this world.\u00a0 Is there any way to impact the world more powerfully and righteously than to make disciples of Jesus?
\nThis is our calling: to make disciples of Jesus Christ. How\u2019s it going?<\/p>\n
