{"id":1300,"date":"2015-08-18T09:00:35","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T16:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fountainvalleyumc.org\/church\/?p=1300"},"modified":"2015-08-17T12:25:33","modified_gmt":"2015-08-17T19:25:33","slug":"another-missionary-report-from-julie-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefount.church\/church\/2015\/08\/18\/another-missionary-report-from-julie-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Missionary Report From Julie Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In July, I was asked to observe the <i>Culture Meets Scripture Workshop<\/i> in Papua New Guinea\u00a0order to give the trainers\u00a0feedback\u00a0on the\u00a0course. \u00a0Culturally defined significant events can be times of intense\u00a0struggle for believers living\u00a0 in\u00a0non-Christian\u00a0communities.<\/p>\n<p>This workshop\u00a0works with church leaders to help them equip those they serve to resist pressures to conform to traditional ways that clash with Scripture.\u00a0 It was amazing and humbling to watch as believers\/church leaders examined their cultural practices,\u00a0and then based on what they had read in God&#8217;s Word,\u00a0repented and then prayed for ways to bring the process to their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Please pray with me that the Lord will continue to show Bible translation and language\u00a0development\u00a0leaders in Asia how to encourage leadership development in younger leaders.<br \/>\nPlease also pray for courage and clarity for those who attended the <i>Culture Meets Scripture Workshop <\/i>as they bring the workshop back to their churches.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In July, I was asked to observe the Culture Meets Scripture Workshop in Papua New Guinea\u00a0order to give the trainers\u00a0feedback\u00a0on the\u00a0course. \u00a0Culturally defined significant events can be times of intense\u00a0struggle for believers living\u00a0 in\u00a0non-Christian\u00a0communities.
